Dr. Neal Dunn, a current U.S. Congressman representing Florida's 2nd District, has shared several updates on social media, encompassing initiatives for student artists, economic policy, and public safety concerns. On April 15, 2025, Dr. Neal Dunn announced the opening of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for students in grades 7-12 residing in Florida’s 2nd District. He invited student artists to submit their original artwork, with winners having their pieces displayed in the U.S. Capitol. On April 17, 2025, Dr. Dunn addressed concerns regarding potential tax hikes. He urged the House GOP and Senate GOP to advance an extension of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act to prevent a possible tax increase affecting American families and businesses. Later on the same day, Dr. Dunn noted that he and his team were closely monitoring reports of an active shooter situation on the campus of Florida State University. He highlighted the seriousness of the early reports and advised the community to adhere to local guidance and safety measures. Neal Dunn, who replaced Gwen Graham in 2017, has been representing Florida’s 2nd District in the U.S. Congress and resides in Panama City. Before his congressional tenure, he served in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Washington and Lee University.
