6

Bay County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on April 4.

The City of Lynn Haven secures hard-earned bragging rights for having some of the best drinking water in the area! The American Water Works Association (AWWA) names Lynn Haven’s water as the Best Tasting Drinking Water of 2022 in Region XII which includes Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Jackson, Holmes, and Washington counties. Derek Rizzuto, Lynn Haven’s Lead Water Operator, explains that “this is the third consecutive year that we have been awarded this designation, and the fourth time in the last five years.”

However, the competition is not over quite yet. Greg Kidwell, Lynn Haven’s Public Utilities Director, states, “we will be going to the state competition in Daytona later this month.” At the state competition, the city will be judged against eleven other regions in the state. This may be the year that Lynn Haven wins the state title, representing quality drinking water for the Central Panhandle!
