City of Panama City Beach: Keep PCB Beautiful hosts beach cleanup

11

City of Panama City Beach issued the following announcement on March 16.

Keep PCB Beautiful is inviting everyone to be a “beach hero” and join the 27-Mile Great American “Be A Beach Hero” Cleanup on Saturday, March 26 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

On that day, everyone who has adopted one of the beach accesses is encouraged to clean their access at the same time. The public is welcome to join in on the cleanup fun by choosing their favorite section of the beach to pick up trash/debris. This efforts brings together everyone to make a huge impact on our beaches in one day.

After all 27 miles of PCB is cleaned, volunteers will bring their trash to the Panama City Beach Senior Center, 423 Lyndell Lane, and weigh their trash and enjoy a free after party starting at 10:30 a.m. Your trash will be your entry into the party with live entertainment by Martin Rodriguez, door prizes, food and drinks, and an event t-shirt (while supplies last).

If you would like to be a “Beach Hero” and join the cleanup, go to the Keep PCB Beautiful website and register. Keep PCB Beautiful thanks event sponsors: Nate’s Coastal Waste and Recycling, Surfing Evolution and Preservation, Ron Jon Surf Shop, Red Alert Diving, and Ink House Screenprinting and Embroidery.

Keep PCB Beautiful is a local affiliate of Keep America Beautiful. The group’s vision is to make Panama City Beach a clean and beautiful place in which to live, work, and visit and to support environmental and conservation initiatives. Keep PCB Beautiful is working to clean up and green up from the streets to the beach while hoping to inspire individuals and businesses to improve the community and natural environment.
