Bay County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on February 23.
Cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Wistar “Tim” Moore has joined the Heart Institute at Ascension Sacred Heart Bay, working with Dr. Gregory England. Dr. Moore will perform surgeries, procedures and see inpatients at the hospital. His clinical office will be located in the Ascension Sacred Heart Bay Medical Office Building at 801 E. 6th Street, Suite 307, Panama City.
“Dr. Moore comes to us with a wealth of experience in open heart surgery and minimally invasive procedures”, said Dr. Mario Pulido, Chief Medical Officer, Ascension Sacred Heart Bay, Emerald Coast and Gulf. “We look forward to adding additional resources throughout the region in 2022 to further expand access to heart care in Bay, Walton and Gulf Counties.”
Dr. Moore is a cardiothoracic surgeon with more than 20 years of experience. He received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry and psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Moore earned his medical degree at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He completed residency training in general surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. He completed his residency training in cardiothoracic surgery at The Emory Clinic. Dr. Moore comes to Ascension Sacred Heart Bay from Mission Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons in Tavares, Florida. He is an American College of Surgeons Fellow as well as an American College of Chest Physicians Fellow. Dr. Moore is a member of the Florida Society of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons, the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association and Le Club Mitrale.
Ascension Sacred Heart Bay provides advanced cardiovascular services including; the area’s only open heart surgery, minimally invasive valve replacement surgery (TAVR), and the Watchman procedure for atrial fibrillation.
