637770541537700000

City of Panama City Beach issued the following announcement on January 6.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a hybrid public meeting for the U.S. 98 (Panama City Beach Parkway) widening project. This meeting is being held both virtually and in-person Thursday, January 27, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The in-person hybrid public meeting will be held at the Lyndell Conference Center, 423 Lyndell Lane, Panama City Beach. Please click HERE for a handout on project information and meeting details. Whether attending virtually or in-person, all participants are asked to register at the following link: www.nwflroads.com/virtualmeetings.

This meeting is being held to give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the proposed improvements. The intent of this project is to improve traffic flow and safety through the widening of Panama City Beach Parkway from four to six lanes from Mandy Lane (near Frank Brown Park) to the Hathaway Bridge. Right-of-way acquisition is funded; however, construction is not funded in the FDOT Five Year Work Program.

Maps, drawings, and other information is available for review online beginning at noon on Thursday, January 6 at the link above. The materials may also be viewed by contacting the FDOT Project Manager at the information below. FDOT representatives are available to discuss the proposed improvements, answer questions, and receive comments. The deadline to submit official comments related to the meeting is Monday, February 7.

Should you have any questions regarding these projects or meeting, please contact Dean Mitchell, P.E., FDOT Project Manager, at (850) 415-9016, via email or by mail at 1282 Office Park Drive, Chipley, FL 32428.
