City rolls out new utility bill payment system

Bill

City of Panama Beach recently issued the following announcement.

The City of Panama City Beach recently partnered with Paymentus to launch an all new one-time bill payment system for utility customers. The new interface provides a simple, easy-to-use payment flow that enables users to view their due date, amount due, and make a payment in moments.

Customers can pay using a Visa or Mastercard debit card, as well as Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover credit cards. Payments by ACH/eCheck or by linking a PayPal, Venmo or Amazon Pay account within the one-time payment system are also accepted.

Additionally, the City of Panama City Beach will be releasing a comprehensive utility bill payment system in January 2022 that offers customers the ability to register an account and enhance their bill pay experience with increased benefits, including paperless eBilling options, scheduled auto payments, consumption reports, and more. An automated phone payment system that users can call to quickly review their account balance and make a payment will be launching next year, as well.

Digital payment capabilities are made possible in collaboration with a third-party partner – Paymentus. Paymentus is a leading provider of cloud-based bill payment technology and solutions and is a trusted partner across North America; the company maintains the highest degree of security measures, including Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) Level 1 compliance and certification – the highest level attainable.

“We are excited about these changes, and they reflect our continual commitment to providing improvements to the customer experience,” said Erica Van Praet, Utility Billing Manager, Panama City Beach. “We recognize that customers want flexibility, accessibility, convenience and user-friendly payment options without sacrificing security. We believe these new features deliver them.”

To access the one-time payment system, please visit our Utility billing page and click “Online Utility Bill Payment Site”.

Due to customer credit card protection measure, the auto-payment feature did not transfer with implementation. Please re-sign up for auto payments in early 2022 when that portion goes live!
