Bay County Chamber of Commerce: GCSC Accepting Applications for Gulf/Franklin Campus Nursing Programs

Bay County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on September 21.

Panama City, FL – Gulf Coast State College is currently accepting applications for the Gulf/Franklin Nursing programs. These programs include Practical Nursing and the LPN to ADN Weekend Programs. Classes begin January 5 for the Spring 2022 semester.

Practical Nursing – This program is designed to help you qualify to obtain a Licensed Practical Nurse’s license in the State of Florida. Upon completion of the program, which consists of 1,350 hours of study, you will be eligible to take the NCLEX-PN (National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses). The application deadline for Spring 2022 admission is November 15, 2021. However, applications are accepted year-round. This program offers two start dates a year, in the Spring and Fall semesters.

LPN to ADN – This program is for the Licensed Practical Nurse who desires to become a professional Registered Nurse and obtain an Associate of Science degree in Nursing. Following successful completion of prerequisite courses, other requirements, and the LPN to ADN Transitions course, students are eligible for admission. The articulation program is designed to facilitate the transition to the professional Registered Nurse role. Upon graduation, students receive an Associate in Science Degree in Nursing and are eligible to take the national licensing exam (NCLEX-RN). There is no application deadline date for this program.

The Gulf/Franklin Nursing Programs feature state-of-the-art high-fidelity simulators for nursing education in Labor & Delivery, Pediatric Care, Elder Care, Adult Hospital Care and Critical Care.
