City of Panama Beach issued the following announcement on August 5.
Keep PCB Beautiful and Panama City Beach have teamed up to create an educational and fun coloring book with images colored by the children of Bay County. The coloring book, “Don’t Trash Where They Splash," promotes keeping our environment clean and free of litter. Students of all ages can participate.
Bay County students in grades kindergarten through 12th grade can draw their best picture showing why we need to keep our streets and beaches clean for our marine life and shore birds. Drawings can be dropped off at Keep PCB Beautiful’s booth at the free Summer Concert Series at Aaron Bessant Park every Tuesday through August 31. Supplies and paper will be provided at each concert and the entries will be displayed. Entries can also be mailed to Keep PCB Beautiful, P.O. Box 9654, Panama City Beach, FL, 32417.
Age groups will be divided into Grades K-2; 3rd-5th; 6th-8th; and 9th-12th. There will be three winners from each age group and the winning drawings will be featured in the coloring book. The winners will be announced at the final concert of the summer on September 7. Concerts are from 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Keep PCB Beautiful is continuing its efforts to educate the community on the perils of trash being left on our beaches and on the streets of Panama City Beach. Getting young people involved and passionate about cleaning up and greening up Panama City Beach will foster a new mindset regarding littering and respecting our environment and wildlife.
Keep PCB Beautiful is a local affiliate of Keep America Beautiful. The group’s vision is to make Panama City Beach a clean and beautiful place in which to live, work, and visit and to support environmental and conservation initiatives. Keep PCB Beautiful is working to clean up and green up from the streets to the beach. Hoping to inspire individuals and businesses to improve the community and natural environment.
