Dr. Neal Dunn, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 2nd district, has recently shared updates through his social media platform on various subjects including educational leadership, veteran services, and housing initiatives.
On May 17, 2025, Dr. Dunn congratulated Marva Johnson on her new appointment as President of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU). He expressed his enthusiasm for Johnson’s role in enhancing the university’s longstanding reputation for academic excellence. “Congrats to Marva Johnson on being named President of @FAMU_1887! I’m excited to see you further strengthen FAMU’s long history of academic excellence.”
On May 19, 2025, he acknowledged Team Dunn’s participation in the Tallahassee Veteran Organization’s Stand Down Events. These events are designed to provide essential services to homeless and at-risk veterans. Dr. Dunn emphasized the honor it is to serve those who have served the nation: “Recently, members of Team Dunn participated in the Tallahassee Veteran Organization’s Stand Down Events! The event provides essential services to homeless and at-risk Veterans. It is an honor to serve our veterans!”
Later that day, Dr. Dunn announced a significant financial grant from Neighborworks America amounting to $57,000 aimed at supporting housing-related efforts within his district. The funds are intended to reduce housing costs, expand available housing supplies, and bolster economic opportunities: “EXCITING NEWS Neighborworks America has just announced $57,000 in grants to members of the national Neighborworks in our district! This money will help catalyze efforts to lower housing costs, expand housing supplies, and support economic opportunities in the area.”
Neal Dunn has been serving in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Gwen Graham and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Boston in 1953 and currently residing in Panama City, he holds a BS degree from Washington and Lee University.
