Dr. Neal Dunn, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 2nd district, has been actively engaging with the community in response to the recent FSU shooting. Throughout several online communications, Dr. Dunn expressed gratitude towards various groups and individuals involved in responding to the event, which included first responders, healthcare professionals, and the community.
On April 27, Dr. Dunn visited members of the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital’s trauma team to express appreciation for their service. In his message, he stated, “Recently, I had the opportunity to meet with members of the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital’s trauma team to thank them for their response to the FSU shooting and treating many of the victims.” He commended their courage and commitment to saving lives.
Later that day, Dunn also engaged with law enforcement officials, acknowledging their ongoing efforts with gratitude. In a subsequent post, he remarked, “Yesterday, I had the chance to meet with members of the @LeonSheriff’s department and @TallyPD to thank them for their response to the FSU shooting and to receive an update on the investigation.”
On April 28, Dr. Dunn participated in discussions at the FSU campus, involving students, faculty, and community leaders. This message indicated his visit’s purpose: “Recently, I was on campus with students, faculty, first responders, and community leaders to hear directly from survivors of the FSU shooting and thank everyone for their response.”
Dr. Neal Dunn, serving in Congress since 2017, has transitioned from his earlier role in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Boston in 1953 and currently residing in Panama City, Dunn has a BS from Washington and Lee University.
