Dr. Neal Dunn, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 2nd District since 2017, recently shared several updates via social media regarding legislative developments and political achievements. Dr. Dunn, who has been active in politics since replacing Gwen Graham in Congress, continues to engage with his constituents through platforms like X (formerly Twitter).
On May 21, 2025, Dr. Dunn expressed gratitude towards Governor Ron DeSantis for visiting Bay County to sign the “Boater Freedom Act.” In his post, he acknowledged the efforts of Senator Jay Trumbull and State Representative Griff Griffitts in championing this legislation. Dr. Dunn stated, “Thank you @GovRonDeSantis for coming to Bay County to sign the ‘Boater Freedom Act,’ which protects the rights of Florida’s boating community.”
Later that day, Dr. Dunn addressed concerns over the U.S.’s critical mineral supply chains during a hearing of the House Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight & Investigations. He emphasized the risks posed by reliance on China for these minerals and highlighted Florida State University’s leadership in addressing this issue. He wrote, “If the U.S. fails to secure its critical mineral supply chains, our economy will suffer, and leave us dependent on Communist China.”
On May 22, 2025, Dr. Dunn celebrated a significant political victory alongside President Donald Trump and fellow Republicans in the House of Representatives. His brief post simply stated “Another huge victory for the @HouseGOP, President @realDonaldTrump, and the American people!”
Born in Boston in 1953 and currently residing in Panama City, Neal Dunn graduated from Washington and Lee University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
