Dr. Neal Dunn, U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 2nd district, addressed a range of topics in a series of tweets posted on October 7 and 8, 2025, including the anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel, government funding issues in Congress, and Florida’s law enforcement recruitment efforts.

On October 7, Dunn reflected on the two-year anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel. He wrote, “On this day, two years ago, Hamas unleashed a horrific attack on Israel, killing more than 1,200 men, women, and children. Hamas must release the remaining hostages. I continue to pray for Israel and for an end to this war.”

Later that day, Dunn criticized Senate Democrats regarding ongoing government funding negotiations. In his tweet from October 7 he stated, “Senate Democrats continue to weaponize their hatred of President Trump against the American People. Their failure to fund the government is cutting off access to federal services and benefits that families, farmers, and servicemembers rely on. @HouseGOP did our job weeks ago.”

On October 8, Dunn commented on law enforcement recruitment in Florida following an event with Governor Ron DeSantis. He tweeted: “Great to join @GovRonDeSantis yesterday to highlight the State’s Law Enforcement Recruitment Bonuses. Over 9,400 recruitment bonuses of $5k have been handed out to deserving law enforcement which ensures our communities are protected by the best of the best. Thank you, Governor https://t.co/w97Tj9XZov”

Dr. Neal Dunn has served in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Gwen Graham and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Boston in 1953 and now residing in Panama City at age 70, Dunn holds a BS from Washington and Lee University.
